About the Position

We are seeking a Principal Java Consultant with extensive experience in Java 17+ to join our team in Kraków, Poland, for a hybrid role.

Responsibilities

Develop high-quality Java code for distributed systems
Automate testing and deployment for frequent releases
Collaborate with product owners and business on requirements
Design and build microservices architecture
Monitor production systems and ensure stability
Take ownership of services across the full lifecycle
Implement low-latency and concurrent solutions

Requirements

Hands-on experience with Java 17+
Knowledge of concurrency and low-latency programming
Experience with data structures and functional programming
Experience with REST APIs and messaging technologies
Knowledge of TDD and unit testing frameworks
Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices
Strong communication skills
Ability to work in agile teams
Problem-solving mindset and adaptability
Experience with AI coding assistants
Openness to work hybrid from our client's office (Kraków) 8 days a month

Nice to Have

Knowledge of Foreign Exchange domain
Interest in trading systems
Experience with open source contributions
Passion for software development outside of work

Competitive salary range: 155-205 PLN/H
