About the Position

Principal Java Engineer

We are looking for a Principal Java Engineer to join our team in Kraków, Poland. You will be part of a DevOps-oriented team, developing a modern, in-house FX trading platform that supports pricing, booking, routing, risk management, and valuations.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality Java code for distributed systems
• Automate testing and deployment for frequent releases
• Collaborate with product owners and business on requirements
• Design and build microservices architecture
• Monitor production systems and ensure stability
• Take ownership of services across the full lifecycle
• Implement low-latency and concurrent solutions

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Java 17+
• Knowledge of concurrency and low-latency programming
• Experience with data structures and functional programming
• Experience with REST APIs and messaging technologies
• Knowledge of TDD and unit testing frameworks
• Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work in agile teams
• Problem-solving mindset and adaptability

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Foreign Exchange domain
• Interest in trading systems
• Experience with open source contributions
• Passion for software development outside of work
