Compensation

• Base Salary: €120K – €135K
• Equity: Included in the total compensation package

At Orbem, pay bands are transparent. Every role sits within a job level with a defined base salary range, benchmarked against market data and applied company-wide. Total compensation is base salary plus equity in the form of stock options. The two are linked: more base means less equity, and the reverse. You choose where you land between them.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Program Ownership (≈ 40%)

• Lead our approach to the upcoming ISO 27001 re-audit.
• Set and maintain Orbem’s information security strategy.
• Own the information security risk register end-to-end.
• Represent Orbem externally with auditors, enterprise customer security teams, and regulators.
• Advise the leadership team on information security risk in product, go-to-market, and expansion decisions.

Hands-On Execution (≈ 40%)

• Own and continuously improve key operational security processes.
• Bring policies and controls to life.
• Own the ISMS governance structure.
• Lead incident response as incident commander for security-relevant events.
• Write clear policies, clear communications, and clear decisions.

Orchestrating the External Stack & Lateral Leadership (≈ 20%)

• Manage a deliberate external provider stack.
• Collaborate closely with the Security Engineering team.
• Co-build a Security Ambassadors network with the Security Engineering team.
• Leverage AI and automation aggressively across the security program.

Requirements

• Scale-up security leadership experience.
• ISO 27001 lived experience.
• Hands-on operator.
• Comfort without a large team.
• Resilience.
• Communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience navigating an ISO 27001 re-audit.
• Familiarity with the European regulatory landscape (GDPR, NIS2, EU AI Act) and a working understanding of US frameworks (SOC 2).
• Deep-tech, AI/ML, or industrial product context.
• Experience working with and evaluating external security and compliance service providers.
• Comfort with AI-first working.
