About the Position
Renesas is seeking a Principal Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure semiconductor assembly supplier quality standards, manage quality excursions, and drive continuous improvement. This role involves establishing and maintaining quality standards, ensuring product consistency, and driving continuous improvement through supplier assessments, audits, and corrective action processes.
Responsibilities
- Liaison between regional suppliers and Renesas
- Manage quality excursions and drive for effective root cause solutions and preventive actions
- Support process/material change process and site certification and audit activities
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
- Support assembly processes, with a focus on Cu Clip, surface mount technology (SMT), components, and related manufacturing techniques
- Identify quality trends, manage projects & influence teams to drive continuous improvement
- Support best practice or lesson learn initiatives aimed at enhancing supplier quality
- Ability to motivate others, remain focused and organized. Communicate with excellent written/verbal and problem-solving skills
Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 15 years relevant experience in supplier quality management which includes supplier selection, ongoing quality improvement, and manufacturing excursion response management
- Proven experience in assembly processes, with a focus on Cu Clip, surface mount technology (SMT), components, and related manufacturing techniques
- Experience in utilization of various problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5-Why, and fishbone analyses)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when working with internal cross-functional groups
- Familiar with external standards such as ISO9001, ISO14001, and IATF16949 with experience in auditing in manufacturing environment as well as FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, and MSA
