Principal Software Engineer

About the Position

Join Aristocrat as a Principal Software Engineer to craft complex systems for our gaming platforms, ensuring innovation and compliance in game development.

Responsibilities

• Craft complex componentized systems that help game developers quickly prototype their games.
• Support iterative development and ensure the Game Development Kit (GDK) stays in sync with all jurisdiction requirements.
• Architect workflows for dynamic data delivery using Unity Addressees and Asset Bundles to improve runtime loading efficiencies.
• Lead all aspects of automation integrations including Editor tooling, automated testing pipelines, and CI/CD development build processes.
• Provide coaching, training, and mentorship to game developers.
• Work closely with managers locally and globally in planning and execution by presenting complexity and time estimates.
• Conduct peer code reviews.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of Unity
• Build scalable, clean, and modular client-side architectures applying patterns like Dependency Injection (DI), State Machines, and Event Systems.
• Deep, exhaustive knowledge of the Unity Engine & Editor scripting APIs, memory management, and rendering pipelines.
• Expert knowledge of scripting, animation, session management, and textures.
• Experience with memory and space optimization.
• C++ experience.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Deep sense of owning your work and prioritizing business and team goals ahead of your self-interest.
• Help team to unblock from any critical problem.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 10+ years proven experience in C#.
• 10+ years of experience in Unity.
• 5+ years C++ experience.
• Experience working with modern software development processes.
• Ability to write clear, maintainable, and portable code.
