About the Position
Wise is a global technology company, building the best way to move and manage the world’s money. Whether people and businesses are sending money to another country, spending abroad, or making and receiving international payments, Wise is on a mission to make their lives easier and save them money.
We are seeking a Process Management Lead to join our team and help us create an entirely new network for the world's money. This role will be instrumental in transforming our current operational landscape into a more efficient, robust, and scalable system, ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory requirements and enhancing our ability to detect and prevent financial crime.
Responsibilities
- Global Process Mapping and Optimization: Conduct a comprehensive analysis of existing "as-is" Operational Processes at Wise. Design and develop optimized "to-be" processes, focusing on creating a streamlined, standardized, and globally consistent approach.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Work with experts from controls, compliance, and efficiency areas to drive improvements. Inspire multiple teams around large problems across product and operations. Integrate with other teams to leverage their support to impact goals through feedback and coaching.
- Strategic Impact: Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure alignment on the biggest opportunities and their prioritization. Define a 12-month strategy and execution plan for your domain with key results that support set objectives.
- Data-Driven Success: Clearly define what success looks like for your processes and evaluate progress using a blend of qualitative and quantitative methods. Communicate results and impact to wider teams. Identify patterns and themes impacting metrics proactively for incident prevention.
- Operational Control Mapping and Assurance: Map all existing operational Level 1 (L1) controls into the new process design, ensuring full coverage and alignment with regulatory expectations. Develop and implement a robust process for evidencing the effective operation of these controls.
- Lead a group of highly skilled process engineers, ensuring their work aligns with our principles, is measured against clear metrics, and delivers high-quality outcomes.
Requirements
- Extensive Experience: 6+ years of experience in process engineering or management, or a background in building products at scale with a deep understanding of organizational complexity.
- Proven Methodologies: Proven track record of mapping complex processes across big organizational depth. Skilled in creating high-quality and practical process maps, breaking down sub-processes, mapping dependencies, and identifying the critical path to success.
- Scalability & Operating Models: Focus on scalability and the ability to implement operating models that enable other teams to improve their performance.
- Eye for Detail: Great attention to detail and a thorough understanding of the small things that make a big difference.
- Data-Driven: Highly data-driven with the ability to gather and interpret data to identify opportunities, measure impact, and tell compelling stories that inspire action.
- Problem Solver: Strong decision-making skills and expertise in overcoming complex challenges. Ability to question the status quo, bring fresh ideas, and formulate actionable plans.
- Autonomous Operator: Ability to resolve challenges, make impactful decisions, and act autonomously to drive projects forward. Experience in hiring, onboarding, and performance managing.
- Experience: Working within fintech or financial institutions.
- Leading: Experience in leading people, hiring, onboarding, and performance managing. Ability to develop a 12-month hiring roadmap for the teams within your domain.
We Offer
- Competitive Salary: GBP 105,000 - GBP 138,000 per year
- Full-time Position: On-site in London, United Kingdom
- Career Growth: Choose your path to impact and gain unique exposure to the full breadth and depth of our product and operational world.
- Mission-Driven: Play a key role in our mission to make money without borders the new normal.
