Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements

About the Position

We are seeking a Product Design Director to join our team at frog, a part of Capgemini Invent. This role combines project oversight with team leadership, reporting directly to the Head of Product Design. You will manage teams in designing and launching innovative products, services, and businesses, and be responsible for advancing our approach, growing our culture, and supporting and coaching team members.

Responsibilities

  • Project Delivery: Oversee the delivery of complex product design projects, ensuring quality design work and inspiring clients to value high-quality design.
  • Client Relationships: Provide strategic counsel to clients’ senior leadership teams, nurture relationships with client partners, and ensure client happiness on projects.
  • Team Leadership: Ensure the happiness of individuals and the team, create the right environment for great work, and play a key role in identifying and managing performance issues.
  • Sales: Generate and convert new business opportunities, advance frog’s design approach, and help win a set amount of revenue.
  • Practice and Development Management: Shape and support the development of the product design practice and team members, lead activities in the product design Community of Practice, and actively participate in skill development activities.

Requirements

  • Experience in product design and development, digital transformation, or customer experience design.
  • Experience in all stages of the design process, from initial analysis to final delivery of designs.
  • Understanding of the challenges and intricacies of designing for digital and non-digital ecosystems.
  • Strong understanding of user-centred design.
  • Passion for creating an environment where people can do great work.
  • Ability to form thoughtful and considered perspectives, supported by both objective fact and strategic conviction.
  • Strong business acumen and a hunger to learn more.
  • Comfort leading sessions with senior clients and presenting to large audiences.
  • Strong feedback skills and the drive to role model these activities.

  • Experience of using AI to reshape “what” we design.
  • Experience of how AI is shaping “how” we design.
  • Experience of speaking at conferences and contributing to the broader design community in the UK.
