About the Position

Product Development Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Development Manager who represents Agile Leadership principles and practices. This role requires a strong technical background combined with exceptional leadership skills. The role is expected to lead team members and managers; drive product development excellence, and enable teams to adopt modern engineering practices, including AI-enabled ways of working.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop cross-functional engineering teams in delivering high-quality software products
• Lead and coach scrum masters, team leads, ensuring effective leadership practices, accountability, and consistent execution across teams
• Drive technical decision-making and architecture design for complex systems
• Collaborate with product owners to translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Implement and optimize development processes to improve efficiency and product quality
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted software development practices, including responsible use of AI tools for coding, testing, documentation, analysis, and productivity improvement
• Ensure AI usage follows company policies, security, compliance, data privacy, and ethical guidelines
• Manage the entire product lifecycle, from conception to deployment and maintenance
• Attract, recruit, induct, and retain capable technical personnel and managers
• Evaluate performance, provide guidance and corrective actions
• Participate in defining and administering compensation, benefits, and promotions
• Perform career coaching and personal development for team members, managers, and future leaders
• Set priorities across teams to ensure task completion, alignment, and project success
• Support teams and managers in problem identification, root cause analysis, and decision-making
• Eliminate technical and organizational impediments to team productivity
• Manage full financial responsibility for own profit unit
• Establish short- and mid-term technical plans in cooperation with the management team
• Participate in product strategy creation and communicate targets clearly across teams
• Foster an environment that supports cooperation among work teams and with other areas of the organization
• Balance hands-on technical involvement with empowering managers and teams to problem-solve independently
• Act as a role model for company values, Lean-Agile Leadership, technical excellence, and continuous learning
• Handle products in the maintenance phase, including managing client escalations, critical issues/tickets, and urgent fixes
• Effectively collaborate with product owners, onsite teams/leaders, managers, and technical support personnel
• Establish and follow Agile ways of working, ensuring continuous improvement of development processes
• Build a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, accountability, and responsible AI adoption

Requirements

• Strong technical background with past hands-on coding experience
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Proven track record of delivering complex software projects on time and within budget
• Strong communication skills, both technical and non-technical
• Experience in stakeholder management and client-facing roles
• Ability to balance technical leadership with people management responsibilities
• Proven experience in managing managers, team leads, or multiple engineering teams
• Ability to build leadership capability within teams and enable managers to take ownership
• Good understanding of AI/GenAI trends, tools, and their practical application in software development and product engineering
• Ability to drive responsible AI adoption while considering quality, security, compliance, and business impact

Technical Requirements

• Extensive experience with full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe, with experience leading Agile teams at scale
• Strong knowledge of modern software development practices, including AI, CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud technologies
• Past hands-on experience with one or more programming languages, for example.NET, C#, Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript
• Familiarity with microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems
• Understanding of software testing methodologies and quality assurance processes
• Knowledge of version control systems such as Git and issue tracking tools such as JIRA
• Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools and practices, such as AI coding assistants, automated test generation, code review support, documentation generation, and AI-enabled productivity improvements
• Understanding of data security, privacy, compliance, and governance considerations related to AI usage in software development.
