About the Position

Product Improvement Engineer | AR5

Location: 100% On-site in Caldas da Rainha

At Tekever, we are seeking a Product & Continuous Improvement Engineer with a focus on usability and user experience (UX) applied to hardware and control stations. Your objective will be to analyze how our operators interact with the technology and implement continuous improvements that increase efficiency and drastically minimize the possibility of human error in critical missions.

Responsibilities

• Implement Kaizen processes and continuous improvement in the AR5 lifecycle, ensuring that each hardware iteration reduces the cognitive load of the operator.
• User-Centric Improvement: Identify friction points in the physical use of the product and Ground Control Stations (GCS).
• Interaction Design: Optimize the layout of controls, joysticks, screens, and physical interfaces to ensure ergonomics and quick response.
• Error Reduction: Apply Error-Proofing (Poka-Yoke) methodologies in hardware design to prevent operation failures.
• Continuous Improvement: Collect feedback from the field and translate it into iterative product updates, ensuring that the AR5 evolves with user needs.

Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years in Product Engineering, Design Engineering, Process Engineering, and Continuous Improvement or equivalent.
• Usability Focus: Experience in projects where human-machine interaction was central to the solution.
• Generalist Profile: Someone who can communicate with the mechanical, software, and end-user teams, acting as a "translator" of needs.
• Language: Fluent English.

Nice to Have

• Experience with UAV control stations, heavy machinery, or complex industrial equipment;
• Knowledge of Human Factors (HF) and industrial ergonomics standards;
• Experience in production environments where agility and rapid iteration are valued;
• Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks or similar) and management tools;
