Product Manager, Observability

About the Position

We are seeking a Product Manager, Observability to join our Product team at Vercel. You will be responsible for the strategy and roadmap of Vercel's observability products, including Runtime Logs, OpenTelemetry tracing, and Drains. You will report to the product lead and be located in New York, NY (hybrid).

Responsibilities

• Own the strategy and roadmap for Vercel's observability products, from telemetry ingestion to the surfaces developers use to debug and monitor.
• Turn ambiguous signals into a sequenced plan with clear tradeoffs.
• Partner daily with engineering and design to make dense telemetry data genuinely legible.
• Define the line between what Vercel builds and where we integrate with vendors like Datadog, Sentry, Grafana, Honeycomb, and New Relic.
• Work with Enterprise customers and Sales/Solutions on observability needs.
• Own pricing and packaging decisions with Finance and GTM.
• Write the launch narrative, including changelogs, blog posts, and documentation.
• Define and track the metrics that indicate success.

Requirements

• 5+ years in product management, with experience in developer, infrastructure, or data-intensive products.
• Experience shipping technical products that engineers treat you as a peer.
• Comfortable owning a domain end to end.
• Fluency with data and the ability to write your own queries.
• Experience with observability, APM, or monitoring companies is a plus.
• Experience with AI or developer tooling is a plus.
• Experience with consumption-based pricing for a technical product is a plus.
• Active Next.js or Vercel user is a plus.

The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $172,000 - $258,000. Actual salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location. Compensation outside of San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package may include benefits, equity-based compensation, and eligibility for a company bonus or variable pay program depending on the role.
