Product Manager - Trading API

About the Position

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager - Trading API to join our dynamic team at Alpaca, a global leader in brokerage infrastructure. This role is remote and open to candidates worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Shape the Alpaca Connect / Marketplace roadmap, including self-service partner onboarding, app discovery and distribution, OAuth / consent experiences, and platform utilities.
• Drive Trading API product strategy by understanding customer and partner needs, analyzing ROI, assessing market competition, and evaluating build-vs-buy opportunities.
• Define and own product requirements, partnering with engineering, design, operations, data, partnerships, and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products on time.
• Own product metrics by leveraging data analytics to measure success, identify opportunities, and drive continuous improvement.
• Guide go-to-market strategy and execution, partnering with marketing, sales, partnerships, and operations to drive product adoption, activation, retention, and revenue growth.
• Drive Trading API growth by analyzing the user funnel, removing friction, optimizing conversion, and running experiments that increase trading volume and revenue.
• Take ownership of ad hoc projects and initiatives as business needs evolve.

Requirements

• Excited about what Alpaca is building.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, STEM, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in Product Management, Engineering, Trading, or building a product of your own.
• Deep passion for trading, markets, and financial products.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in SQL.
• Sharp business acumen, with the ability to balance user experience, stakeholder needs, technical feasibility, and resource constraints.
• Strategic thinker who can solve immediate problems while keeping long-term company goals in mind.
• Highly self-driven, with exceptional communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to Have

• Experience building or scaling trading platforms, brokerage products, developer platforms, or integration marketplaces.
• Hands-on experience with algorithmic trading.
• Technical background with experience working with APIs or partner ecosystems.
• Experience owning growth metrics.
