Product Owner & Customer Journey Expert | IPA Trade Store

Join ING Hubs Romania as a Product Owner & Customer Journey Expert for IPA Trade Store, contributing to financial risk metrics and simulations.

Responsibilities

As a Product Owner & Customer Journey Expert, you will:

  • Combine market and system knowledge, product management, and business expertise to take a leading role in successfully delivering change initiatives.
  • Be the interfacing function between various stakeholders (trading, sales, Ops, risk, IT, markets, and software vendor partners) to understand the challenges and identify how technology and process can be used to solve them.
  • Represent the voice of the business to the squads.
  • Support efficient change by providing impactful analysis on cross domain, end-to-end, complex environments.
  • Be a partner of the squad and be part of the process (be at the standup, plannings, drive refinements, fully engage with the dev cycle, be there for the team when they need you).
  • Maximise business value by creating / providing clear and developer-ready content for user stories (what is needed, for whom and why with clearly defined acceptance criteria (leave no one in any doubts on what's required)), stimulate rich and collaborative conversations.
  • Perform collaborative refinements by getting the team involved regularly and working together.
  • Love your backlog (know the backlog inside out, groom it regularly, keep it prioritized).
  • Facilitate alignment of the delivery teams (how) with the businesses/user groups to ensure a strong focus on timely & good quality delivery.
  • Ensure deliveries meet the expected deadlines.
  • Create, maintain and own the product vision and regularly share it with the stakeholders and the engineering teams (creative and open to collaborative ideas, excite, motivate, enthuse the team, instill confidence, live and breathe the product vision).
  • Create strong relationships with both team members and stakeholders (communicate, listen, rapport, empathise, influence, motivate, say no vs say yes).
  • Adapt and improve: don't repeat waste and improve what works.
  • Think iteratively (lean) and have technical empathy (understanding) in order to deliver incremental value (vertical slices) and have a smooth iterative delivery process.
  • Structure, simplify and solve issues on processes and systems.
  • Provide process design and visualisation.
  • Participate/Lead end to end refinement and solution design sessions.
  • Work independently and ensure that implications of decisions are thought through and get addressed.
  • Be able to have a good end-to-end vision and manage complexity.
  • Keep track of and analyze market and competition developments.
  • Lead, guide and inspire others in specific areas and manage the preparations and commitments regarding deliverables.
  • Create an environment of open dialogue that encourages expertise development through collaboration and idea-sharing, in which colleagues take responsibility, help each other to be successful and remain a step ahead.
  • Establish and maintain strong (sustainable) relationships with key stakeholders, focused on a clear understanding of their challenges and opportunities. Also identify business opportunities to drive revenue and improve product offerings.
  • Train and coach involved parties, ensuring understanding, adoption, and proper implementation of proposed solution(s).
  • Accumulate and collect knowledge, keep it up to date and make it accessible for re-use. Take initiatives for sharing knowledge.
  • In case of an existing product/market, also take care of the further development of a product by initiating new Epics, Features and Stories.

Requirements

  • Experience:
    • 10+ years background in Financial Markets and/or Treasury.
  • Skills/knowledge:
    • Prior experience as Product Owner, Product Manager.
    • Experience in Risk Management.
    • Familiarity with the Financial Markets regulation is a plus.
    • Experience with working in Agile/Scrum.
    • Experience with product and service management and processes.
    • Knowledge in event driven architectures and streaming data.
    • Product experience in data pipelines, data modelling, ETL and databases. Strong knowledge in trade data models such as ISDA CDM, FpML and warehouse architectures.
    • Good communication skills (in English), as well as communication and presentation skills (telling – selling) across different skill and seniority levels.
    • Strong analytical skills and an eye for detail.
  • Foreign languages: English (excellent level).
  • Education: Completed education at Bachelor/Master level.
