About the Position

Luxoft, a DXC Technology Company, is an established leader in consulting and implementing complex projects in the financial industry. We are currently seeking a Product Owner - Core Banking with over 10 years of experience in IT and Banking to join our team in Hyderabad, India. This role is pivotal in driving the delivery of core banking features and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Feature Delivery & Ownership

    • Own and deliver multiple features per quarter across multiple teams.
    • Ensure smooth delivery through all lifecycle phases: Design, Development, IST, ET, VT, and Production Implementation.
    • Validate and ensure delivery timelines are achievable.
  • Backlog & Requirements Management

    • Participate in L2 refinement sessions to understand feature scope and priorities.
    • Decompose features into detailed user stories in collaboration with L1 teams and technical leads.
    • Maintain a well-defined, healthy, and prioritized backlog.
  • Planning & Prioritization

    • Perform feature planning in collaboration with L1 teams and engineering leads.
    • Drive priority decisions in alignment with L2 stakeholders.
    • Ensure alignment between business priorities, technical feasibility, and delivery timelines.
  • Agile Execution & Team Leadership

    • Actively participate in and lead Agile ceremonies: Daily Stand-ups (DSUs), Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives.
    • Step into Scrum leadership responsibilities when needed.
    • Ensure teams follow Agile best practices and deliver incrementally.
  • Capacity & Delivery Management

    • Manage and optimize capacity across three Agile teams.
    • Ensure efficient utilization of team bandwidth while balancing delivery commitments.
    • Monitor sprint progress and address delivery bottlenecks proactively.
  • Risk & Dependency Management

    • Identify, track, and manage RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) for all features.
    • Escalate critical risks to L2 stakeholders when necessary.
    • Ensure dependencies across systems, teams, and integrations are effectively managed.
  • Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

    • Act as the primary interface between L2 stakeholders and L1 teams.
    • Foster strong collaboration through co-location and active engagement with teams.
    • Ensure transparent and timely communication of progress, risks, and decisions.
  • Core Banking Domain Responsibilities

    • Drive delivery across core banking modules such as CASA (Current & Savings Accounts), Lending / Loans, Payments & Settlements, Customer Lifecycle Management.
    • Ensure high levels of transaction accuracy, data integrity, and system reliability.
    • Support integration with downstream and upstream banking systems.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Responsibilities

    • Ensure all features comply with banking regulations and guidelines (e.g., RBI, KYC, AML).
    • Embed compliance, audit, and security requirements into product features and user stories.
    • Work closely with Risk, Compliance, and Audit teams.
    • Support regulatory audits, production readiness reviews, compliance reporting, and documentation.
    • Ensure adherence to data privacy and protection standards and transaction monitoring requirements.

Requirements

  • Must Have

    • Overall 10+ years of experience in IT and Banking.
    • Proven hands-on experience (4+ years) as a Product Owner/ Business Analyst in Core Banking domain and working in an Agile product development environment, with demonstrated backlog ownership and delivery execution.
    • Strong knowledge of core banking platforms (e.g., Hogan, Finacle, T24, Flexcube).
    • Deep understanding of Deposits (CASA) and different deposit products and their lifecycle (DDA, TDA/CDAs, etc.), Loans/Lending, Payments.
    • Good experience with backlog management tools (JIRA, DevOps, etc).
    • Strong experience gathering requirements from stakeholders and end users and converting them into clear, testable user stories with acceptance criteria.
    • Solid understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum and/or Kanban) and active participation in Agile ceremonies.
    • Hands-on experience using Jira, Confluence, or similar tools for backlog management, documentation, and delivery tracking.
    • Ability to analyze business and data insights to drive prioritization and decision-making; SQL or reporting experience strongly preferred.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across business and technology teams and across time zones.
