About the Position

Production Equipment Maintenance Technician (TPM) 3rd shift

FHP Manufacturing, a joint venture between Robert Bosch (BOSCH Group) and Carrier Corporation, is a leader in the production of geothermal and water source heat pumps. We are seeking a skilled Production Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, modify, repair, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, etc.
• Diagnose and predict mechanical equipment failures.
• Disassemble machines, repair or replace broken parts, and adjust functional parts as necessary.
• Clean and lubricate parts, and initiate requests for replacement parts.
• Diagnose electrical problems within machine circuitry.
• Use handbooks, machine assembly drawings, blueprints, schematics, trade manuals, sketches, and verbal instructions to maintain mechanical devices.
• Maintain maintenance records and update machine documentation.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Utilize continuous improvement concepts in quality, efficiency, and meeting production standards.

Requirements

• Experience: 7+ years of experience performing equipment maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
• Skills:
  • 3+ years of experience with machine drive trains, precision spindles, pneumatic, hydraulic, and fluid systems.
  • 3+ years of experience in troubleshooting and analyzing causes of failures.
  • 3+ years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing production equipment with appropriate controls.
  • 3+ years of experience with safety procedures and working with hand tools.
  • 2+ years of MS Office experience (Outlook, Excel, etc.).
• Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

• Machine shop and shop floor experience.
• Experience with PLCs and controls.
• Experience with lathes, grinders, stamping, milling, brake presses, and other machine shop/production machinery.
• Plumbing, mechanical, and electrical repair experience.
• Ability to read schematics.
• Must be willing to work flexible schedules to ensure production needs are met.
• Maintain "state-of-the-art" skills and knowledge.
• Able to use current business systems to perform computer tasks related to specific job function.
• Proactive, self-starter with curiosity to learn and problem solve.
• Must be able to work independently and within a team environment.
• Journeyman machinist level, a plus.

Work Schedule

• Shift: 3rd Shift, 10:00pm - 6:30am, Monday - Friday.
• Overtime: Ability to work overtime, including some Saturdays (10:00pm - 6:30am) as needed.
• Training: Must be able to train on a 1st shift, Monday - Friday for the first six weeks or so.
