Project Coordinator, Food

About the Position

We are seeking a Project Coordinator, Food to manage and oversee LIMS, operations, and quality projects in our food laboratories.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for planning, overseeing, and participating in the execution of LIMS, operations, quality, and client service projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget.
• Monitor project progress and deliver status reports, timelines, issues, risks, and action items to stakeholders and team members.
• Develop, maintain, and participate in project plans for lab implementation of the LIMS system and projects enhancing the functionality of the LIMS system.
• Proactively lead operational projects (including new laboratory builds) to ensure project deliverables are met.
• Understand all applicable aspects of the project, including the rationale for the project, regulations that affect the project, different methods employed by the client and laboratory to produce results.
• Coordinate the implementation of the quality software platform across all food laboratories and manage and communicate enhancements to the software package.
• Perform technical review of incoming work.
• Manage vendors for subcontracted work and research options for additional vendors.
• Manage and participate in all aspects of large, client requests for proposal (RFP) to deliver a complete and quality product by client deadlines.

Requirements

• 4-year degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a closely related field.
• 2+ years of laboratory experience.
• Effective problem prevention and problem-solving skills.
• Written and verbal communication skills necessary to cross multiple disciplines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Proficiency with LIMS and Client Portal systems.
• Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
