About the Position

Job Title: Project Coordinator – Ghana

Project Name: Field Support Services Project in Ghana

Job type: Contract

Location of Position: Accra, Ghana

Reporting to: Project Manager

Remuneration: In line with market rates.

Citizenship: This position is open to candidates currently based in Accra, Ghana

Language Requirements: Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking) is required. Proficiency in other languages is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Based in Accra, Ghana, the tasks for the Project Coordinator – Ghana include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assisting the Project Manager in developing, planning, and prioritizing all deliverables and DFATD task requests;
  • Coordinating and tracking DFATD task requests: ensuring quality implementation and reporting from Technical Specialists, identifying issues as they arise and recommending adjustments to the Project Manager and Designated Stakeholders when required and in a timely fashion;
  • Contributing to documenting and preparing quality reports and deliverables;
  • Assisting in identifying and sourcing Technical Specialists when technical expertise and technical assistance are needed in response to DFATD task requests;
  • Coordinating logistical services, such as vehicle rentals, travel, and contracting arrangements (Letters of Agreement, etc.) for Technical Specialists/subcontractors and third parties or Designated Stakeholders, as required;
  • Researching and providing background information, analyses, and relevant information, and writing summaries;
  • Engaging with stakeholders, monitoring concerns and issues, and addressing problems in a timely and effective fashion.

Requirements

  • Degree in political science, law, international development, economics, finance, business administration, project management, social sciences, applied sciences, or similar;
  • Minimum of six (6) years of project coordination or administrative experience on donor-funded projects (GAC, FCDO, USAID, GIZ, etc.), strong preference for those implemented in Ghana or one of the other project regions;
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating at least 2 international development projects in the last 7 years;
  • Demonstrated experience supporting administrative, financial, and procurement activities, including budgets, financial and narrative reports, and other communications items, including maintaining and updating relevant project information and electronics files;
  • Skilled at coordinating logistics such as meetings, events, transportation of goods, booking hotels, flights/transportation, and applications for visa or other documents;
  • Assisting in identifying and sourcing human resources or contractors to provide technical expertise and technical assistance;
  • Assisting in developing, planning, analyzing, evaluating and prioritizing deliverables, documents, requirements and lessons learned;
  • Fluency in English is required; fluency in additional language(s) is an asset.
