Project Coordinator, Preconstruction Services

BUILD IT is a full-service general construction company with offices in Mississauga, ON and Calgary, AB. We are seeking a Project Coordinator to join our Preconstruction Services team in Mississauga, Ontario. This role involves managing projects from design through permitting into construction, ensuring that what gets designed is also what can be built, on budget.

Responsibilities

• Write and issue RFPs to consultants (interior designers, architects, MEP engineers, structural engineers, and more), source competitive quotes, and compare them side by side to support award decisions
• Support contract negotiations and prepare consultant contract documentation
• Read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings well enough to support quote evaluation and day-to-day coordination
• Build and maintain project schedules, flag risks, and keep permit and tender drawings on track
• Run weekly progress meetings, participate in client meetings, and manage follow-ups
• Enter consultant commitments into Procore and reconcile invoices against them

Requirements

• A diploma or degree in interior design, architecture, engineering, project management, or a related construction field
• 1–2 years of relevant office experience
• Organized, detail-driven, and comfortable juggling multiple consultants and deadlines
• A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and clear communication
• Comfort with (or willingness to learn) Procore and AI tools

We Offer

• Competitive salary: $55,000 - $60,000 CAD per year
