About the Position
QA Automation Engineer – Mainframe
We are seeking a QA Automation Engineer – Mainframe to join our team in Atlanta, GA, ensuring high-quality validation for mission-critical travel applications within IBM z/TPF environments.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute test strategy, planning, and validation for GDS-based applications, including airline offer, booking, and order systems
- Perform end-to-end functional and integration testing across high-volume transaction environments
- Validate EDIFACT-based interfaces and ensure data accuracy across systems
- Develop and enhance automation frameworks for TPF-based systems to improve test coverage and efficiency
- Manage the defect lifecycle, including tracking, reporting, and resolution in collaboration with cross-functional teams
Requirements
- Strong expertise in IBM z/TPF / z/TPFDF and mainframe testing within the travel domain
- Hands-on experience with TPF automation frameworks and tools
- Experience in functional and integration testing of distributed and mainframe systems
- Solid understanding of EDIFACT messaging standards and validation processes
- Ability to lead testing efforts, collaborate with stakeholders, and provide status, risk updates, and quality improvements
Nice to Have
- Experience building or enhancing automation test suites for TPF systems
- Knowledge of integrating automation frameworks with CI/CD pipelines
- Strong exposure to GDS systems and airline domain workflows (Offers, Orders, Booking)
- Proven ability to drive automation adoption and scalable QA practices
- Experience working in high-volume transaction processing environments
We Offer
- Competitive salary between $71,100– $112,500 depending on experience and qualifications

- Work model: Onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a Cognizant or client office in Atlanta, GA or Denver, CO
