About the Position
We're seeking a QA Engineer with experience in testing complex systems to join our R&D team in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Responsibilities
- Verify firmware processes: Test the full firmware update cycle (including physical connections/programmers) and device recovery after failures.
- Test OTA updates: Verify the reliability and security of Over-The-Air (OTA) updates for system components.
- Test comprehensive solutions: Backend, network infrastructure, and telemetry.
- Work with networks and APIs: Validate service operation through APIs and check the correctness of protocol operation.
- Linux: Deploy environments, analyze logs, monitor system and hardware status.
- Maintain test documentation: Create and maintain test cases, checklists, test plans, and bug reports.
- Work with code and databases: Read and validate code, write basic scripts for verification/automation, and compose SQL queries.
Requirements
- Experience: At least 2 years in testing (focus on Backend, Infrastructure, or Embedded).
- Linux: Proficient use of the OS at an advanced user level (command line, file system, processes, logs).
- Networks and protocols: Understanding of HTTP/S, MQTT, TCP/IP principles and ability to analyze network traffic.
- API: Experience in API testing (Postman, cURL, or similar).
- Update processes: Understanding of the specifics of testing device firmware and OTA updates.
- SDLC and documentation: Excellent understanding of development processes and maintaining quality test documentation.
- Databases: Proficiency in SQL.
- Code handling: Skills in reading, validating, and writing basic code (Bash, Python, etc.).
Nice to Have
- Experience with embedded systems (Embedded), controllers, single-board computers (Raspberry Pi, Orange Pi, Jetson, etc.), telemetry collection systems, and bootloaders.
- Experience piloting UAVs (especially in simulators: Liftoff, Uncrashed, Velocidrone, etc.) or model aircraft.
- Veterans/ex-military personnel with FPV or mil-tech experience are highly welcome and will be prioritized.
- Soldering skills, multimeter/oscilloscope proficiency, and basic electronics work.
- A driver's license (Category B).
