About the Position
QA Engineer – VOIP (Astratech)
Astra Tech is a UAE-based technology investment and development group, embarked on a mission to build the world’s first ultra platform & ecosystem, that will disrupt the consumer technology space by rethinking the boundaries of a digital ecosystem. It will be the first of its kind in the MENA region to simplify the way people & businesses interact, engage, and transact with each other. The platform will provide seamless connectivity between consumers and businesses, enabling users to effortlessly access home, e-commerce, and fintech services in one place. Astra’s mission is to enrich people’s lives by making communication and e-commerce more seamless, connected, and natural.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive functional and non-functional testing of VoIP applications.
- Validate backend APIs to ensure correct data handling and process integration.
- Use specialized tools to measure and evaluate the quality of voice and video transmissions.
- Conduct performance and stability testing to assess application scalability under different network conditions.
- Develop and execute automation test scripts for both mobile UI and backend API testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on Agile processes.
- Provide detailed reports on defects, performance bottlenecks, and areas of improvement.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a related field.
- Proven experience in Quality Assurance, including functional and non-functional testing.
- Experience in automation testing for mobile UI and backend API.
- Proficiency in API testing and backend validation techniques.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile environment.
- Strong English communication skills for seamless collaboration with teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience testing communication, messaging, voice, or video applications.
- Experience with products such as Zoom, Webex, WhatsApp, Telegram, Microsoft Teams, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with tools and techniques used for evaluating audio and video quality.
- Experience using AI-powered tools (e.g., ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude) to enhance QA and automation workflows.
