QA Lead

CD PROJEKT RED is a company focused on creating revolutionary, story-driven RPGs. The role is within the Hadar project in the QA department.

Salary: 23.9k - 32.8k PLN/month

Responsibilities

Build and shape a high-performing QA team, including recruitment, onboarding, and skills development.
Lead, mentor, and develop the QA team fostering accountability and continuous skill growth.
Adapt and implement QA strategy into testing approaches, measurable outcomes, and team priorities.
Own testing execution and milestone verification to ensure quality standards.
Monitor quality metrics and bug trends, identifying risks and creating mitigation plans.
Partner with development, production, and external QA vendors for coordination and alignment.
Participate in hands-on exploratory, feature, and regression testing to maintain product knowledge.
Maintain data-informed reporting on quality status, blockers, and project readiness.
Drive continuous improvements in QA workflows, tools, testing frameworks, documentation, and team effectiveness.
Assist with complex investigations, issue analysis, and debugging workflows when required.

5+ years experience leading and managing QA teams, preferably in AAA environments.
Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, bug workflows, defect management, test planning, coverage, QA practices, and quality reporting.
Experience with game engines, especially Unreal Engine.
Understanding of game development lifecycles and testing strategies including integration, stress, performance, stability, tools, engine, platform, and technical features.
Experience with performance analysis, profiling tools, crash analysis, memory investigations, platform-specific testing, or console development environments.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills for presenting quality status, risks, blockers, priorities, and recommendations.
Experience working with external QA vendors, distributed QA teams, or cross-location development teams.
Strong ownership, accountability, and ability to work under pressure, ambiguity, and changing priorities.

Experience with User Experience Research (UXR), focus groups, usability testing, and player feedback.
Experience with automation frameworks, automated test authorship, build verification, CI/CD pipelines, or technical validation workflows.
