QNX OS Architect

About the Position

Join rinf.tech as a QNX OS Architect to define system architecture, lead BSP/driver strategy, and optimize latency. Remote work available.

Responsibilities

• Define system architecture: process model, IPC topology, scheduling strategy, and fault containment.
• Lead BSP/driver strategy, secure boot, and partitioning of safety-critical components.
• Optimize latency, throughput, and startup; establish observability and diagnostics frameworks.
• Drive cybersecurity and safety-by-design; interface with security, safety, and compliance teams.
• Mentor engineers; perform design reviews and roadmap planning.

Requirements

• 8-12+ years embedded; 5+ years with QNX
• Deep QNX expertise (resource managers, procfs, adaptive partitioning, priority inheritance).
• Real-time design (rate-monotonic, deadline-aware scheduling).
• Advanced debugging (core dumps, heap/stack, race detection).
• Secure design (least privilege, crypto integrations, key storage).
• Release management, risk mitigation, and vendor collaboration.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field

Nice to Have

• Safety standards ownership (ISO 26262, DO-178C context).
• Automotive/industrial comms (CAN, LIN, Ethernet TSN).
• Formal methods or model-based design exposure.
• Leadership of multi-SoC portfolios and supplier management.
• Contributions to QNX ecosystem or internal frameworks.
