Qualitätsmanager / Head of Laboratory

We are seeking a Qualitätsmanager / Head of Laboratory to lead our lab team, ensuring quality and compliance in a global wood industry leader.

Responsibilities

Leadership: Provide professional and disciplinary leadership to the lab with 2 employees.
Planning and Supervision: Plan, steer, and supervise daily lab operations and sample analyses (production-accompanying).
Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality, accuracy, and timely execution of all analyses.
Documentation: Create, maintain, and develop lab documentation, test reports, and internal work instructions.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to legal requirements, internal quality standards, and relevant standards.
Equipment Management: Responsible for the maintenance, calibration, and procurement of lab equipment and materials.
Process Improvement: Develop and optimize lab analysis methods and processes.
Complaint Handling: Manage complaint processing.
Customer Interaction: Actively participate in complaint meetings and customer visits.
Reporting: Daily reporting.
Environmental Protection Officer: Assume the role of Gewässerschutzbeauftragter according to the Water Resources Management Act (WHG).
Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the contact person for authorities, supervisory authorities, and external inspection bodies.

Requirements

Ideally, a completed vocational training in a technical field in conjunction with a degree with a focus on technician/quality engineer.
Professional experience desirable, ideally with initial management experience.
Proficiency in common lab analysis methods and devices.
Strong sense of responsibility, structured, and meticulous work approach.
Communication and leadership skills in dealing with employees, colleagues, and authorities.
Good English skills in speech and writing and proficient use of MS-Office.

Nice to Have

Experience in the wood processing industry is a plus.
