About the Position

Bring your ideas to life at Boeing, where we innovate and collaborate to make the world a better place. We are seeking a Quality Inspector - 737 Operations to join our team in Wichita, Kansas. This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units.

Responsibilities

  • Use and interpret drawings, inspection manuals, and specifications, and operate precision measuring instruments, specialized inspection machines, tools, and equipment.
  • Experience working with Quality Management System Policies and Procedures.
  • Working knowledge of Company Policies, Procedures, and Specifications.
  • Overall working knowledge of production processes.
  • Coordinate and accomplish work assignments by contacting other company organizations or customer representatives.
  • Utilize good computing skills and maintain certifications as required.
  • Plan and follow inspection procedures to accept or reject processes/parts/assemblies.
  • Verify that tools are qualified and prepare and maintain Quality records.
  • Cross-train in equivalent level Assembly, Composite, Metals, Process, and Systems/Payload Structures Mechanic classifications.

Requirements

  • Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

    • Must be able to work any shift.
    • Minimum 2 years of aircraft or mechanical experience or completion from trade school or equivalent.
    • Must pass a blueprint reading course once hired and obtain all required certifications.
    • Proficient in basic computer operations.
    • Must complete and pass a vision test.
  • Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    • Previous experience in aircraft inspection is highly preferred.
    • Strong background as an auto mechanic can also be considered.
    • Experience in aerospace assembly and/or manufacturing industry.
    • Knowledge of aircraft parts and aircraft maintenance.
    • MS Office and SAP experience.
