R&D Engineer - Signal Processing

About the Position

We are looking for a R&D Engineer - Signal Processing to join our Space & Technology team at isardSAT Group. This role focuses on developing algorithms in the field of radar altimetry and data processing for oceanography, hydrology, and cryosphere applications.

isardSAT Group, with its headquarters in Barcelona and a subsidiary in Guildford, has been providing engineering and scientific remote sensing solutions since 2006. Specializing in altimetry and passive microwave missions, we design, calibrate, and maintain civil remote sensing instruments. Our expertise extends from algorithm development to post-launch calibration and hardware maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Developing algorithms in the field of radar altimetry.
• Prototyping, implementing, and testing processing chains and generating value-added products.
• Processing and analysis of data.
• Writing technical documents, project reports, and scientific journal papers.

Requirements

• Education: Master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or similar.
• Experience: 2 years of relevant working experience.
• Skills:
  • Very good knowledge of Signal Processing.
  • Very good knowledge of Python and/or MatLab.
  • Specific experience in Altimetry/SAR is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of compiled programming languages such as Fortran, C, or C++ is considered an asset.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Interest in Earth Observation and Space Industry.

We are continuously improving our processing software well after that decommissioning phase.
