R&D Manager (International Markets)

About the Position

Our partner, an innovative international beverage company, is currently seeking candidates for the position of R&D Manager (International Markets) based in Cyprus.

Role Objective

Lead the development of innovative products for export markets (e.g., soft drinks, alcopops, energy drinks), tailoring formulations to local tastes, regulatory requirements and consumer preferences, and driving competitive advantage through R&D.

Responsibilities

• Develop new products (NPD) for 15+ countries with a view to future scaling
• Adapt recipes and packaging to the unique characteristics of each market
• Collaborate with co-packers in the UAE, India and Europe: transfer technology, oversee QA and conduct audits
• Monitor trends and introduce technological innovations
• Integrate sustainable practices into production and packaging
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards (ISO, HACCP, BRC, etc.)
• Coordinate with international R&D teams

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in fermentation technology, brewing or oenology)
• R&D experience within FMCG
• Knowledge of non-alcoholic, low-alcohol and fermented beverages, and other drink categories’ technologies
• Strong technical calculation skills
• Familiarity with international regulatory frameworks (EU, Asia, MENA)
• Track record of successfully launching products in export markets
• Experience working with co-packers (technology transfer, logistics, production)
• Expertise in NPD processes, sensory analysis and product testing
• Hands-on experience integrating innovations such as AI/ML into R&D
• Fluent English
• Willingness to travel internationally

We Offer

• Salary: 3,500 EUR Net + 1,000 EUR housing allowance per month
• Employment: Official contract with the local Cypriot entity
• Relocation: One-time reimbursement for airfare and baggage to Cyprus
• Employment is possible on a rotational basis, with mandatory presence in Cyprus for at least 184 days per year.
