About Nebius
Nebius is leading a new era in cloud infrastructure for the global AI economy. We are building a full-stack AI cloud platform that supports developers and enterprises from data and model training through to production deployment, without the cost and complexity of building large in-house AI/ML infrastructure.
Built by engineers, for engineers. From large-scale GPU orchestration to inference optimization, we own the hard problems across compute, storage, networking and applied AI.
Listed on Nasdaq (NBIS) and headquartered in Amsterdam, we have a global footprint with R&D hubs across Europe, the UK, North America and Israel. Our team of 1,500+ includes hundreds of engineers with deep expertise across hardware, software and AI R&D.
EASTERN & CENTRAL TIMEZONES ONLY
Location: Open to candidates living near New Jersey, Kansas City, Oklahoma or the Minneapolis area. Hands-on work is within a reasonable commute or drive of your home base
Responsibilities
- Set and own the regional EHS plan, turning policy and legislation into clear priorities and controls for your sites.
- Translate the global EHS strategy into everyday practice across your region, making sure teams are well supported and equipped with the toolkit to advance site EHS performance.
- Lead, manage and develop local teams - setting objectives, building capability, and owning outcomes.
- Act as the senior EHS voice with regional and site leadership - advising on risk and holding the business to account.
- Own regional governance and assurance - audits, inspections, and the quality of your team's risk assessments and controls.
- Take personal command of major incidents and crises - leading investigations, building a learning culture, and reporting to executive level with composure under pressure.
- Set the standard for construction, commissioning, operations and other high-risk activity, equipping specialists to manage risk on the ground.
- Own the regional EHS performance narrative - turning data into insight that drives decisions and accountable action plans.
- Review EHS data and performance metrics regularly, acting on trends and insights to drive continuous improvement across the region.
- Support the wider environmental and sustainability agenda, partnering with teams to embed it across your region.
- Represent Nebius with regulators, industry bodies and partners, protecting its credibility on EHS.
- Champion Nebius's culture and values, embedding EHS as core to how the business operates.
Requirements
- Core Skills:
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent), Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
- 6+ years' Environmental, Health & Safety experience, including experience leading or managing a team.
- Preferred Skills:
- Deep working knowledge of country and regional legislation, with a track record of shaping policy and standards, not just applying them.
- Proven experience supporting incident response and investigations, including in high-pressure, high-consequence situations, with the composure to make sound decisions under stress.
- A track record of influencing senior stakeholders and holding them to account.
- Experience coaching and developing teams and capability.
- Strong commercial and organisational judgement - able to balance risk, cost and pace.
- Excellent communication skills, with the gravitas to advise, challenge constructively, and represent EHS externally.
- A continuous-improvement mindset and the ambition to build a function, not just run a programme.
We Offer
- Competitive compensation: $107,000-$134,000 USD
- Career growth and learning opportunities
- Flexibility and ownership
- Collaborative and innovative culture
- Opportunity to work on impactful AI projects
