Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements

About the Position

We are seeking a Regular Xceptor Developer with 4+ years of experience to join our team in Pune, India, focusing on data integration and automation.

Responsibilities

  • Solution Design & Development

    • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions using Xceptor.
    • Design and develop data ingestion, transformation, and validation workflows.
    • Create rule-based logic to manage data exceptions and automate decision-making.
  • Data Integration

    • Integrate Xceptor with various data sources such as flat files (CSV, XML, Excel), databases, APIs, or third-party systems.
    • Configure ingestion layers for structured and unstructured data.
    • Ensure compatibility and smooth data flow between upstream/downstream systems.
  • Workflow Automation

    • Build automated workflows for business processes (e.g., reconciliations, client onboarding, trade validations).
    • Develop exception handling and error management within the workflows.
  • Testing & Validation

    • Perform unit testing of developed workflows and rules.
    • Work with QA teams to support system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT).
    • Ensure outputs meet business data quality standards.
  • Deployment & Support

    • Assist in promoting solutions from development to production environments.
    • Provide post-deployment support, including defect fixing and performance tuning.
    • Monitor workflows and troubleshoot issues in production.
  • Documentation & Reporting

    • Create and maintain technical documentation for developed workflows, transformations, and rules.
    • Prepare user manuals and training guides for business users.
    • Build reporting dashboards if required.
  • Collaboration

    • Work closely with business analysts, data analysts, and project managers to align technical implementations with business needs.
    • Liaise with infrastructure and security teams to ensure compliance with enterprise policies.
  • Continuous Improvement

    • Identify opportunities for process optimization or reuse of components.
    • Stay updated on new Xceptor features and best practices to improve efficiency and maintainability.

Requirements

  • Must Have

    • 4+ years of overall experience
    • At least 1.5 years of experience on Xceptor
    • Experience in migration or automation projects using Xceptor
    • Basic scripting (JavaScript or Xceptor's in-built scripting logic)
    • SQL for data manipulation and validation
    • XML / JSON for structured data handling
    • Strong skills in working with RDBMS (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
    • Experience in handling large datasets and data reconciliation
    • Understanding of ETL concepts and tools (Xceptor is often used as an ETL tool)
    • Experience with data cleansing, validation, and transformation logic
    • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
    • Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD pipelines (JIRA, Jenkins, etc.)
    • Ability to debug workflows and resolve complex data transformation issues
    • Strong communication skills to interact with BA, QA, and business stakeholders
    • Ability to translate business requirements into technical workflows
  • Nice to Have

    • Expertise in Jira or a similar issue-tracking system
