We are hiring a Mid Software Engineer to enhance our database change management product. We are looking for someone who is excited to work alongside developers to build, improve, and deliver significant product enhancements that solve challenging problems in the database DevOps and CI/CD space.

Project Stack and Team

• Languages and Tools: Java 17+, Maven, JUnit / Groovy / Spock / Mockito
• Containerization: Docker
• Cloud Platforms: AWS and Azure
• CI/CD Tools: Jenkins and GitHub Actions
• Project Management: JIRA / Confluence
• Databases: Almost all databases

Responsibilities

• Ensuring delivery of new capabilities for our enterprise Java products as part of our agile development team
• Contribute to technical design reviews
• Undertake peer-programming with both junior and senior software engineers
• Estimate story sizes for sprint planning
• Build Unit, Integration, and Cucumber tests per Liquibase’s test-driven development (TDD) approach to software engineering
• Collaborate with QA members to address issues found during automated and manual testing
• Take part in code reviews, internal infrastructure, and process enhancements
• Participate in end-of-sprint retrospectives
• Present completed software at end-of-sprint demos

Requirements

• Mandatory:

  • 4+ years of professional Java development experience
  • Strong understanding of Core Java and object-oriented design principles
  • Hands-on experience with JDBC and relational databases
  • Experience with Spring, Spring Boot, or Hibernate
  • Experience with CI/CD (Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment) methodologies
  • Comfortable working in both Windows and Unix/Linux environments

• Nice to Have:

  • Experience developing RESTful Web Services and APIs
  • Experience with NoSQL and cloud databases
  • Knowledge of Java performance tuning and optimization
