About the Position
We are seeking a Remote Staff Accountant (LX1061749) to join our team. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary range of USD 75,000 - USD 85,000 yearly. The role is fully remote, providing flexibility and the opportunity to work from anywhere.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping/accounting for multiple clients in QuickBooks Online and Desktop
- Perform monthly reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and financial statement preparation
- Build monthly sales journals from POS reports (Square, Heartland, Toast)
- Recognize payroll expense from payroll/POS reports (Square, Heartland, Toast, ADP, QuickBooks)
- Prepare, pay, and file multi-jurisdiction sales tax returns (monthly/quarterly)
- Act as primary accounting point of contact for assigned clients
- Collaborate with internal team on consistent, accurate, timely deliverables
- Track work and documentation in Karbon
- Support quality control and adherence to firm standards
Requirements
- 5+ years in public accounting or client-based accounting firm environment
- Strong QuickBooks Online/Desktop skills; QBO ProAdvisor certification a plus
- Solid grasp of accrual accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Experience with multi-jurisdiction sales tax filing
- Experience recognizing payroll expense from third-party reports (Square, Toast, Heartland, ADP)
- Strong communication and client-service skills
- Ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously
- Proficiency with Karbon, ADP, Microsoft Office
- Hospitality/F&B/service-industry client experience preferred
