Research Assistant for Vacunclim Project: assessing the climate and water footprint of spanish cattle farming

About the Position

The Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3) is offering a full-time Research Assistant (RA) position for a period of 11 months. This role is part of the Spanish-funded Project “VacunClim,” which aims to analyze the climate and water footprint impact of Spanish cattle farming through a novel modelling framework. The research will be conducted within BC3’s research line 4 on “Adaptation and Mitigation in AFOLU and Food Systems.”

Responsibilities

• Support the Principal Investigator (PI) and team with research tasks such as literature reviews, designing workshop activities, analyzing results, and drafting articles.
• Maintain communication and good relationships with project partners throughout the project.
• Assist with the facilitation of workshops with local communities and other groups in Madrid, Sevilla, Córdoba, and Bogotá.
• Support the organization and logistics of project meetings and workshops (online and in person).
• Assist with the preparation of project materials such as summaries, reports, policy briefs, a guide, and other written outputs.
• Report outputs and processes in PARTY and IMAGINE Adaptation team meetings.

Requirements

• Education: University Master degree in natural or environmental sciences.
• Skills:
  • Experience in Spanish cattle systems, carbon footprinting, water footprinting, and LCA methodology.
  • Fluency in Spanish (both written and spoken) and a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary research group.

Salary

The gross annual salary for this position is €24,960.00.
