About the Position
We are currently searching for a skilled Research Associate II (Cytology) to join a well-known client’s laboratory team in Tucson, Arizona. This position supports research, development, and manufacturing laboratory activities. The Research Associate II will design, execute, and interpret laboratory experiments while ensuring strict compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
- Design and execute experimental protocols with minimal supervision
- Perform laboratory experimentation in support of research, development, and manufacturing activities
- Collect observations, analyze data, and interpret experimental results
- Prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses
- Present experimental findings clearly and effectively to project teams
- Maintain complete, accurate, and compliant laboratory documentation in accordance with GMP, GLP, and Design Control requirements
- Troubleshoot experimental or process issues and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment, contributing creative solutions to project planning
- Provide input on process improvements and assist with identifying potential patentable inventions
- Train colleagues and monitor work to ensure quality and adherence to the Quality First Time principle
- Exercise sound scientific judgment when selecting methods and techniques for complex problems
Requirements
- 2–4 years of relevant post-college laboratory experience required
- Hands-on experience conducting laboratory experiments and analyzing scientific data
- Experience working in a regulated environment following quality and compliance standards preferred
- Experience handling cytology specimens and preparing cytology slides is a plus
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science required

- Strong proficiency with specialized laboratory techniques
- Ability to research and interpret scientific literature
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
- Coachability with a proven ability and desire to learn
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
- Preferred: Experience with cytology specimen handling and slide preparation using Hologic T2000 or BD Totalys systems
