Location: Beirut, Lebanon

Mercy Corps is seeking a Researcher Consultant to analyze market opportunities for Syrian refugees and host communities in Lebanon. This role is part of the ‘Strengthening Regional Policy Dialogue and Partnerships on Solutions’ project, funded by RDPP and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Mercy Corps.

Responsibilities

The Consultant will be responsible for:

• Identifying and sharing relevant studies, articles, and documents related to the research questions.
• Contextualizing and translating KII interview guides into Arabic.
• Identifying and engaging with key informants and conducting Key Informant Interviews (KIIs).
• Producing KIIs transcripts and summaries, ensuring they are anonymized and imported into a qualitative coding structure.

The Consultant will also participate in:

• Reviewing and contributing to the qualitative research methodology.
• Reviewing and contributing to the desk research.
• Validating analytical findings with the lead consultant and the CA regional manager.
• Reviewing and contributing to the inception and final reports.
• Co-presenting initial findings internally and externally.

Requirements

• Strong research skills.
• Ability to contextualize and translate documents into Arabic.
• Experience in conducting Key Informant Interviews.
• Ability to produce detailed transcripts and analytical summaries.
