Risk Data Engineering & Analytics Expert (m/w/d)

flatexDEGIRO SE, the leading and fastest-growing online brokerage platform in Europe, is seeking a Risk Data Engineering & Analytics Expert (m/w/d) to join our Financial Risk Team in Frankfurt am Main. In this key role, you will actively shape the transformation towards a data-driven, highly automated, and technologically leading risk management. You will be responsible for the further development of our bank-wide risk data and model infrastructure and the expansion of the Financial Risk Environment (FiRE), our central platform for risk data management, analytics, modeling, and decision support.

Responsibilities

• Develop and operate the central risk data and analysis platform of the bank and drive its continuous development within the Financial Risk Environment (FiRE).
• Design, implement, and optimize high-performance data architectures, data models, and ETL processes for financial risk management.
• Develop modern data, analysis, and reporting solutions for the bank's key risk types, increasing efficiency, transparency, and automation of risk management.
• Support the development of regulatory frameworks such as ICAAP, ILAAP, and our risk models through innovative data and analytics solutions.
• Implement and validate risk, scenario, and stress test models.
• Identify potential for automation and digitalization and use innovative technologies to improve processes and decision-making.
• Evaluate and implement modern AI solutions, AI agents, large language models, and intelligent automation approaches.
• Collaborate closely with departments, IT, Data Office, Internal Audit, and external stakeholders, and support regulatory initiatives, audits, and strategic projects.
• Actively contribute to the technological advancement of financial risk management and strengthen it as a data-driven control function within the bank.

Requirements

• Successfully completed degree in (Economic) Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Data Science, Business Administration, or a comparable quantitative field.
• Several years of professional experience in financial risk management, data engineering, risk analytics, data science, or a comparable environment within a financial institution.
• Excellent knowledge of modern data architectures, data modeling, data integration, and ETL processes.
• Solid programming skills in Python, SQL, and/or R, and practical experience with modern data platforms.
• In-depth knowledge of key risk types and relevant regulatory requirements, especially MaRisk, CRR/CRD, and ICAAP and ILAAP-related regulations.
• Experience in the development, validation, or support of analytical models, risk models, or data-driven applications.
• Experience with modern software development and DevOps methods, such as Git, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud technologies like Azure or AWS.
• Enthusiasm for new technologies, especially in the field of Artificial Intelligence, AI agents, large language models, and intelligent automation.
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills, as well as the ability to communicate complex technical and business matters clearly.
• High degree of personal responsibility, willingness to shape, innovativeness, and technological curiosity.
• Excellent German and English language skills in speech and writing.
