About the Position

Autonomy in Every Drone

The Fourth Law (Четвертий Закон) - a leading Ukrainian manufacturer of drone autonomy technologies. The company’s solutions are codified to NATO standards and are used by more than 50 units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine and 20+ drone manufacturers. Our products bear the names of Ukrainian figures of the Executed Renaissance and the Sixtiers - Vasyl Stus, Olena Teliha, Mykola Zerov and Anatolii Lupynos. In 2026, the company received an award from DOU as the most promising project in the defense technology sector.

Role mission: as a highly qualified engineer, to ensure the functional evolution of our autonomous platform - from researching the feasibility of new product and engineering hypotheses to full production deployment.

Your task is to turn high-level objectives into proven, reliable implementations that work in real conditions on the modern battlefield. You will join the Frontline team responsible for tools and solutions that are already operating in close proximity to the front line, destroying the enemy and strengthening the capabilities of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

Responsibilities

  • Full feature cycle: Implementing new platform capabilities from the research phase to production-ready code - with responsibility for the quality of the end result for the user.
  • Architectural integration: Introducing new features into the existing architecture using software patterns that ensure maintainability and production readiness of the code.
  • Performance optimization: Researching system bottlenecks and implementing improvements to increase real-time performance and resource efficiency.
  • Hardware/Software integration: Ensuring the integration and correct operation of new components - at the boundary between physical hardware and the application layer.
  • Team development: Writing and reviewing code, handling technical debt, implementing improvements and influencing the team’s overall development process.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of commercial development experience with complex engineering products.
  • Strong command of C++ and Python.
  • Deep understanding of architectural models and the software development process.
  • Confident work in a Linux environment, understanding of how the OS interacts with hardware.
  • Experience debugging and diagnosing problems in various environments.

Nice to Have

UAV experience

  • Skills in operating drones of various types; experience with UAV platform components: flight controllers, ESC, SoC.
  • Experience with MAVLink, ELRS, ROS/ROS2, PX4 or ArduPilot.
  • Simulation experience: Gazebo, MATLAB/Simulink or Python-based physics libraries.
  • Experience with integrations with external solutions.

Embedded and low-level

  • Experience in embedded development, building custom Linux images, working in resource-constrained environments; familiarity with Buildroot or Yocto.
  • Understanding of communication interfaces and protocols - from network stacks (OSI) to low-level hardware work (I2C/UART/CSI).

CV and ML at the edge

  • Understanding of modern and classical CV pipelines, running neural networks in embedded environments and evaluating the quality of ML models.

We Offer

  • Work that makes a real impact.
  • We create products that directly strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities. Work with top engineers in MilTech and autonomy.
  • Your code will run on drones that are already flying at the front - the cycle from commit to combat use is measured in weeks, not years.
  • A team of engineers with experience in MilTech, embedded and CV at the edge - without the bureaucracy of large defense integrators.
  • Opportunities for growth - both technical and leadership.
  • Official employment in Diia City.
  • Possibility of reserving military-obligated employees in accordance with current legislation.
  • Annual paid leave - 24 calendar days.
  • Veterans are entitled to additional paid leave - 14 calendar days.
  • Paid sick leave in accordance with the law.
  • Voluntary health insurance after completing the probation period.
  • Possibility of reimbursement of training expenses in accordance with the company’s internal policies.

We are looking not for executors, but for like-minded people who share our values and are ready to build the future of Ukrainian MilTech.

Locations

  • Kyiv, Ukraine
  • Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine
