Rust Developer (Astratech)

About the Position

Astra Tech is a UAE-based company building one big app (Botim) where you can do everything: call, send messages, pay bills, move money, shop, book services, and even talk to AI – all without jumping between dozens of separate apps. By plugging new services into behaviors people already have (chat and calls), Astra Tech solves platform fatigue and creates a sticky ecosystem for 150M+ users across 155 countries. Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services in Rust (APIs, async workers, integrations).
• Design clean interfaces, write reliable code, and improve performance when needed.
• Add basic observability (logs/metrics/tracing) and help keep services stable in production.
• Collaborate with product and mobile/web teams to deliver features end-to-end.
• Review code, share best practices, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Strong backend experience and hands-on Rust in real projects.
• Good understanding of async/concurrency (e.g., Tokio) and practical systems debugging.
• Experience with SQL databases (Postgres/MySQL) and caches/queues (e.g., Redis / Kafka / RabbitMQ) is a plus.
• Can own tasks independently, communicate clearly, and move fast without sacrificing quality.
