About the Position
We are seeking a ビジネスオペレーションヘッド・Safety and Quality to join our team in Tokyo, Japan. This role is a hybrid position and is part of the Management & Business department.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Organizational Management
- Support the mid- to long-term strategy formulation for the Safety & Quality Line of Business (LoB)
- Develop and monitor annual plans, organizational goals, and KPIs
- Plan, create, and manage materials for management meetings, LoB reviews, and Board presentations
- Assist the Safety & Quality Head in decision-making
- Analyze and propose improvements for cross-organizational issues

Governance and Risk Management
- Establish and improve governance frameworks for Safety, Security, and Quality
- Visualize, monitor, and manage risks, including escalation management
- Promote risk management activities in collaboration with first- and second-line organizations
- Follow up on improvement activities based on audit and assessment results
- Provide risk reporting to the management team

Leadership of Key Projects Across Safety & Quality
- Standardize and streamline business processes
- Foster a culture of quality and safety
- Drive business transformation using AI and digital technologies
- Strengthen alignment between global organizations

Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate with the management team, including the CTO, VP, and LoB Heads
- Work with development, product, legal, procurement, and internal control teams
- Communicate and coordinate with Japanese and overseas offices
- Facilitate and achieve consensus on critical issues

Bridging Global and Japanese Contexts
- Promote Toyota's quality, safety, and customer value to global organizations
- Reflect the Japanese market and customer perspective in global decision-making
- Enhance mutual understanding and collaboration between different cultures
- Balance global standards with Japanese market requirements
- Support communication considering cultural and background differences
Requirements

Educational Background
- Bachelor's degree or higher
-
Experience
- Over 10 years of professional experience in software development, quality assurance, functional safety, security, risk management, management planning, or related fields
- Experience leading cross-organizational or transformation projects
- Experience in creating and presenting materials for management
- Proven track record of forming agreements and promoting collaboration among diverse cultural and organizational contexts (Japanese and global environments)
- Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English (reading, writing, and oral communication)
- Deep understanding of Japanese business culture, quality culture, and customer-centric values, with the ability to convey Japanese perspectives to global leadership and appropriately bridge global perspectives to Japanese stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Experience in the automotive or mobility industry
- Experience in Safety, Quality, Cybersecurity, or Compliance
- Knowledge of standards such as ASPICE, ISO26262, ISO/SAE21434, IATF16949, etc.
- Knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), internal controls, and auditing
- Experience as a Chief of Staff, management planning, business planning, PMO leader, etc.
- Management experience in global organizations
- Experience with post-M&A integration or large-scale organizational transformation
- Experience in leveraging AI and driving digital transformation
- MBA or related advanced degree
