We are operating in all Mozambique provinces since 1962, with 3 regional offices in Maputo, Beira, and Nacala. We are looking for a Sales & Marketing Representative based in Beira, reporting directly to the Sales & Marketing Coordinator.

Responsibilities

Sales/ Revenue Generation

• Generate revenue by growing the customer database and increasing market share.
• Develop relationships with new customers by directing and supporting collaborative sales efforts to grow assigned business lines.
• Analyze customer issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Follow yearly objectives as defined by Management.
• Liaise with the line Manager to develop specific sales strategies.
• Suggest sales process improvements.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge with appropriate tools or resources.
• Prepare sales presentations and keep records of sales trends.
• Establish close working relationships between the regional and local teams to identify sales opportunities for new and existing clients.
• Administration and execution of all quotation requests through various channels - web enquiries, email, and walk-in clients, etc.
• Update the sales pipeline weekly.
• Support the tender process.
• Refer all quotations for approval where applicable (limit, costs, terms of payment, etc).

Business Development & Marketing

• Engage with local markets to determine trends and competitive environments.
• Assist with market analysis exercises in line with the agreed strategy.
• Attend exhibitions and other promotional activities where applicable.
• Attend to marketing-related activities as required by the line manager.
• Support customer survey and satisfaction initiatives.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Marketing or Business Management or a related field.
• Proficient in Portuguese and English.

Experience

• At least 3 years of experience in a Sales and Marketing position.
• Experience within the Technical Inspection and Certification (TIC) industry is an advantage.
• Experience in working with CRM Systems is an advantage.

Competencies

• Knowledge of merchandising techniques and methods for specialized and/or technical products.
• In-depth understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
• Skill in dealing with the public; knowledge of and proven ability to apply customer service techniques.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Able to adequately represent SGS with confidence.
• This position includes outside travel to customers’ premises.
• Confidence, enthusiasm, and a persuasive nature.
• Organizational skills.
• Time management skills.
• Motivation to work without supervision.
• Ability to work under pressure.
