About the Position
We're looking for a Sample Manager LIMS Engineer to join our team in Lisbon, Portugal, in a hybrid working mode. In this role, you will provide continuous post-implementation support, configuration, and enhancements for Thermo Scientific SampleManager LIMS in a SaaS environment. Your expertise will ensure uninterrupted lab operations and compliance with established standards, while collaborating closely with business and IT stakeholders to maintain system integrity and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for Thermo Scientific SampleManager LIMS
- Collaborate with laboratory users and IT teams to address system needs and inquiries
- Manage system configuration, user access, and compliance requirements
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve incidents while minimizing system downtime
- Handle change and problem management activities aligned with ITIL processes
- Maintain detailed documentation of processes and system changes according to organizational standards
- Support report and dashboard configurations, workflows, and customizations to meet operational needs
Requirements
- Strong experience in L2/L3 application support within ITIL-aligned service frameworks
- Proven hands-on expertise with SaaS versions of Thermo Scientific SampleManager LIMS (including versions 21.x and 21.3)
- Proficiency in SampleManager configuration tools, including Entity Designer, Explorer, and master data management
- Hands-on knowledge of Visual Workflow Designer for creating and troubleshooting workflows
- Experience configuring SampleManager reports, dashboards, and generating custom reports
- Solid SQL skills for data querying, validation, and troubleshooting within SampleManager data model
Nice to Have
- Experience with instrument integration in SampleManager, including chromatography systems such as Chromeleon, Empower, or OpenLab
- Understanding of REST and SOAP web services for SampleManager integration troubleshooting
- Familiarity with GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and EU Annex 11 compliance for validated environments
- Knowledge of data integrity principles (ALCOA+) in laboratory contexts
- Awareness of SaaS shared responsibility models for platform and customization management
