Scala Engineer
Location: Cracow, Poland
Type: Full-time (Hybrid)
Salary: 14 000 - 20 000 PLN/month
About the Position
Synerise is looking for a Scala Engineer to design, build, and evolve the backend for our event processing and analytics platform that powers AI-driven customer experience.

Responsibilities
- Design architecture and patterns for processing and storing high-volume datasets.
- Build software with a strong focus on performance and optimization.
- Translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed designs.
- Analyze large data stores and surface meaningful insights.
Requirements
- Strong Scala skills, with production experience using an effect system (Cats Effect, ZIO, or Akka/Pekko).
- Experience designing or significantly contributing to event-driven systems in production.
- Strong working knowledge of Apache Kafka.
- Hands-on Kubernetes skills.
- Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Ability to design for scale and growth.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills in distributed environments.
Nice to Have
- Solid grasp of JVM internals.
- Experience with observability: distributed tracing (OpenTelemetry, Jaeger), structured logging, metrics.
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Experience working in a cloud environment (Azure / GCP).
