About the Position
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to run monthly US GAAP accounting and close activities for assigned entities and processes. You will post accurately in SAP, deliver reconciliations and variance analysis, and support audits and process improvements while working independently and escalating complex topics as needed. Responsibilities
- Perform US GAAP bookkeeping for assigned entities and accounting areas, including accruals, prepayments, and recurring close activities
- Complete monthly close activities in SAP according to established procedures and deadlines
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and profit & loss variance explanations for your scope
- Verify source documents and accounting attributes prior to posting or pre-upload to SAP, including tax code and support package completeness
- Identify, calculate, and prepare accrual and prepayment adjustments using system data, trend analysis, and supporting documentation
- Track and resolve posting issues between other company’s operational systems and SAP within assigned scope
- Investigate irregular or unusual transactions and recommend appropriate accounting treatment for review by senior team members or management
- Coordinate with local accountants, business contacts, and other finance teams to clarify issues and complete close steps on time
- Provide third party accounting providers with required data for local accounting purposes
- Support internal and external audits by gathering explanations, reconciliations, and supporting documents
- Contribute to process improvement, including testing and implementation of system or workflow changes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- At least 3 years of accounting experience, ideally in an international environment
- Good knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and core accounting principles
- Hands-on experience using SAP or another ERP system for accounting operations
- Proficiency with Excel for reconciliations and supporting calculations
- High attention to detail, strong accountability, and ability to work independently within defined procedures
- Good spoken and written English skills (B1+ level or higher)
