Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Accounting Manager to lead our APAC accounting function, headquartered in Vietnam. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the full accounting cycle, financial reporting, and statutory compliance across the region. The successful candidate will hold a Chief Accountant certificate as required under Vietnamese law and will bring the gravitas and technical depth to manage a team of accounting professionals.

Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Accounting

  • Own the end-to-end accounting function for the APAC region currently comprising of Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Thailand
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS) and, where applicable, IFRS or other local GAAP across the APAC region
  • Oversee general ledger management, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end close processes aligned to group reporting deadlines for all APAC entities
  • Ensure APAC intercompany transactions and consolidation entries are correctly recorded and reconciled
  • Monitor fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules across the region
  • Manage treasury functions including cash flow monitoring and banking relationships as required for all APAC entities
  • Support regional payroll oversight across APAC

Tax & Statutory Compliance

  • Collaborate with the Regional Tax Team to ensure consistent tax compliance across the region (including CIT, VAT, FCT, and PIT)
  • Oversee timely preparation and submission of all tax returns and liaison with the tax authorities
  • Partner with the tax team on transfer pricing documentation, tax planning initiatives, and regulatory updates
  • Monitor changes in local tax legislation and accounting standards across APAC jurisdictions
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage the annual statutory audit process

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of up to 5 accounting staff, fostering a high-performance culture
  • Set clear performance objectives, conduct regular reviews, and support career development
  • Allocate work effectively across the team to meet deadlines and maintain quality standards
  • Identify skills gaps and support training and development initiatives

Business Partnering & Controls

  • Act as a trusted finance partner to regional business leaders, providing clear financial insight and analysis
  • Drive continuous improvement of accounting processes, systems, and internal controls
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes with accurate actuals data and variance analysis

Requirements

Essential

  • Chief Accountant Certificate (Chứng chỉ Kế toán trưởng) - mandatory requirement under Vietnamese law
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role
  • Deep technical knowledge of Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS), tax regulations, and Labour Law
  • Proven track record of managing in-house payroll independently
  • Experience with regional or multi-entity accounting across APAC
  • Proficiency in accounting ERP software (SAP experience preferred)
  • Strong command of written and spoken English for regional reporting and stakeholder communication

Preferred

  • Experience in a multinational company or regional shared services environment
  • Familiarity with IFRS reporting requirements
  • Experience managing or coordinating accounting across multiple APAC countries (e.g. Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand)
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) in addition to the Chief Accountant certificate
