Senior Android Developer

About the Position

Intellias is glad to announce a vacancy for Senior Android Automotive Engineer position! The project is focused on development of next generation IVI media casting solution, for leading EU OEM. Successful candidates will be working in a friendly and process-oriented team, developing a high-quality solution. The team will work according to a Scaled Agile framework best practices, used by the OEM, with focus on technology excellence and high automotive-grade quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Software design of media casting software components for AOSP Android Automotive platform
• Source code review of AOSP Android Automotive software components
• Optimization of media casting components from architectural and algorithmic point of view
• Attendance of Scaled Agile ceremonies

Requirements

• Strong Kotlin development skills with a solid understanding of Android application architecture
• Strong understanding of C++, memory management, STL containers
• Good knowledge of architecture and design patterns, and API design principles
• Proficiency in multithreading and concurrency using Kotlin Coroutines and/or RxJava
• Strong experience with Android Studio, gradle
• Strong expertise in HAL and Android services
• Hands-on experience with multithreading, including race conditions, deadlocks, etc.
• Practical experience with unit testing
• Experience with debugging tools
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with technical and non-technical multi-functional teams
• High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy
• Self-motivated, well-organized, detail-oriented, and a strong team player
• Creativity and high level of independence
• Experience with all phases of the software development life cycle
• Understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and engineering practices
• English level: Upper-Intermediate (B2)

Nice to Have

• Good understanding of Android Automotive platform architecture
• Aptitude and desire to independently learn new technologies
• Experience with bug-tracking tools like Bugzilla, Jira, etc.
• Experience with code versioning tools such as Git (pull requests, branching strategies, tags, etc.)
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub)
• Familiarity with the build process management tools such as CMake/Make
• Experience with Python, bash scripting
• Experience in documentation creation
• Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
