Uklon is a technology company that developed the eponymous mobile application. Founded in Kyiv in 2010, Uklon started as a ride-hailing platform and has evolved into a multi-service digital ecosystem integrating ride-hailing, Uklon Delivery, Uklon Ads, Uklon Store, and the Uklon Travel bus ticket booking service. As of August 2026, Uklon operates internationally across two countries - Ukraine and Uzbekistan. The service currently covers 31 Ukrainian cities and the Bukovel resort, as well as Tashkent and 5 regional hubs across the Fergana Valley in Uzbekistan.

Responsibilities

• Developing new functionality and supporting existing functionality
• Analyzing the root causes of production incidents and identifying solutions
• Participating in team code reviews
• Directly influencing team metrics
• Participating in the discussion and estimation of upcoming tasks, as well as their decomposition
• Contributing to the management of the technical backlog
• Influencing and contributing to technical innovation
• Being willing to share expertise and, when needed, mentor teammates

Challenges for Three Months

• Adapting to the team
• Becoming familiar with the Company’s approaches to software design and code development
• Generating ideas for improving the AI SDLC flow
• Developing new functionality within predictable timelines
• Participating in the refinement of functional/non-functional requirements as part of initiatives
• Participating in initiative estimation

Requirements

• At least 5 years of commercial experience in Kotlin development
• Strong understanding and practical application of OOP and SOLID principles
• Strong proficiency in Java Core: core, collections, concurrency, networking
• Experience in using Jetpack Compose
• Android Framework: Core Android API, UI, Android Jetpack, threading model, and popular third-party libraries
• Experience in using Gradle and RxJava
• Experience in covering functionality with tests (JUnit, Spek)
• Strong understanding and practical application of MV* patterns
• Experience in using AI-assisted development tools in Android development (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar): code generation and refactoring, test writing, debugging, code review, and working with agentic workflows; understanding of the limitations and risks of AI-generated code

How Do You Manage Your Working Hours?

• Flexible schedule based on role responsibilities
• Days off with full compensation: 20 for personal needs, 10 for illness, 1 more on a birthday occasion (a gift from the company), up to 8 for blood donation
