Job description
About the Position
Senior Application Developer - Palantir Foundry Experience (M/F/D)
Are you passionate about building data-driven products and transforming complex data into valuable assets? Whether you come from a software engineering or data engineering background, if you have hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry and are eager to create something new and exciting, we want YOU on our team!
With us, you will work on large, complex data platform projects, helping our customers become cloud-native, data-driven companies. You will also contribute to building and growing our own ontology modeling platform, a semantic knowledge layer that makes data truly accessible to business users.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop cloud-native applications and data platforms in agile, cross-functional teams, delivering valuable software in short iterations.
- Build and evolve our semantic knowledge layer platform on Azure, focusing on ontology modeling, data binding, knowledge graph interaction, and AI-agent-based querying.
- Depending on your background, deliver applications that bring use cases to life for users or deliver the data products and insights that power them.
- Leverage your Palantir Foundry expertise in customer projects and in shaping our approach to ontology modeling, pipeline development, and application building in our own platform.
- Deploy, operate, and automate your applications in a cloud-native environment (Azure Container Apps, Kubernetes).
- Work AI-first, using AI coding assistants and agents as part of your daily development workflow, and help evolve how we apply AI across our engineering practice.
- Test, validate, and iterate on features based on customer feedback and product metrics.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners and cross-functional teams, translating user and business demands into clear and feasible engineering tasks.
- Make robust technical decisions and take ownership in driving products and platforms to the next level.
- Share your knowledge through code reviews, pair programming, and active knowledge exchange, and help shape our engineering culture with new tools, methodologies, and best practices.
Requirements
- Hands-on Palantir Foundry experience, including ontology modeling, application development, or Foundry application configuration.
- 3+ years of experience as a Palantir Application Developer or Full-Stack Software Engineer.
- A solid academic background in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
- Deep understanding of the full software development lifecycle and familiarity with CI/CD, containerization, infrastructure as code, and cloud platforms.
- Strong sense for code quality, documentation, and maintainability, relying on metrics to guide decisions while staying open to feedback.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written (German is a plus).
- Experience leveraging AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) as a natural part of how you build software.
- Strong backend experience with TypeScript, or with Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot, and a track record of shipping applications to real users.
- Experience designing and building APIs (GraphQL is a strong plus) and taking applications all the way to production in cloud environments.
Nice to Have
- Experience with knowledge graphs or semantic technologies beyond Foundry (e.g., RDF, OWL, SPARQL, property graphs) and with building AI agents/LLM-based features (e.g., Azure OpenAI).
- Exposure to frontend ecosystems like React.
We Offer
- Hybrid work culture with flexibility between office and home.
- Work remotely from anywhere in the EU for up to 6 weeks per year.
- JobTicket for public transportation in Cologne.
- Development support: certifications covered + €2,000 annual conference budget.
- Childcare support and company pension plan for your long-term well-being.
- Choose your preferred work setup: MacOS or Windows.
- Access to leading AI tools: work with the tools that suit you best, including ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Cursor, and more.
