About the Position

We are seeking a Senior AQA Engineer with 5+ years of professional QA experience to join our wellness tech company in Ukraine or remotely, focusing on test automation and healthcare compliance.

About the Client

A wellness tech company building a consumer health platform for at-home health monitoring. The product ecosystem includes a smart scale, mobile app, and wearable device, providing real-time health insights, personalized recommendations, and AI-driven wellness tracking.

Responsibilities

• Test Automation Infrastructure:

  • End-to-end test framework covering patient portal, provider dashboard, and API layer
  • Automated regression suite executing on every pull request
  • Performance testing harness validating API response times and database query efficiency
  • Integration test suite covering external systems (pharmacy networks, payment processors, AI APIs)
  • Visual regression testing for UI consistency across browsers and devices
  • Mobile responsiveness validation across device sizes

• Clinical Algorithm Validation:

  • Comprehensive test suites for medication dosing calculators ensuring mathematical accuracy
  • Expected change projection validation comparing outputs against clinical reference data
  • Body composition calculation verification across edge cases (extreme weights, unusual tissue distributions)
  • Weight-adjusted medication effect level testing across full dosage ranges
  • Medication potency factor validation for all approved medications (Semaglutide, Tirzepatide, Liraglutide, etc.)
  • Statistical algorithm testing for identifying meaningful vs. normal biological variation

• Healthcare Compliance Testing:

  • HIPAA compliance validation ensuring proper data access controls
  • Audit logging verification confirming all PHI access is tracked
  • Authentication and authorization testing across patient and provider roles
  • Data encryption validation for data at rest and in transit
  • Session management and timeout testing
  • Cross-user data isolation verification ensuring patients can’t access others’ data

• AI Integration Quality Assurance:

  • API integration testing with fallback scenario validation
  • Prompt output validation ensuring structured JSON responses
  • Clinical widget testing (Progress Summary, Medication Effectiveness, Clinical Recommendations)
  • Response consistency testing ensuring AI-generated content remains clinically appropriate
  • Edge case handling for malformed AI responses
  • Performance testing for AI response caching and rate limiting

• Data Integrity & Validation:

  • Time-series data integrity testing for body composition measurements
  • Measurement timing context validation (fasted state, hydration flags, exercise impact)
  • Data migration testing ensuring zero data loss during schema changes
  • Database constraint validation preventing invalid data states
  • Referential integrity testing across complex healthcare entity relationships
  • Biological plausibility checks for body composition measurements

• Subscription & Payment Testing:

  • Payment processing workflow validation with test payment providers
  • Subscription lifecycle testing (creation, renewal, cancellation, refunds)
  • Billing cycle automation verification
  • Dosage change impact on billing calculations
  • Insurance verification workflow testing
  • Edge case handling for failed payments and retries

Requirements

• QA Excellence:

  • 5+ years of professional QA experience with heavy emphasis on test automation
  • Expert-level proficiency in at least one programming language (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, or similar)
  • Deep experience with E2E test automation frameworks (Cypress, Playwright, Selenium)
  • Strong API testing skills with REST/GraphQL endpoints
  • Experience with CI/CD integration and automated test execution
  • Knowledge of performance testing methodologies and tools
  • Understanding of security testing principles

• Healthcare/Regulated Industry Experience (Strongly Preferred):

  • Experience testing HIPAA-compliant applications or healthcare software
  • Understanding of FDA regulations for medical software (if applicable)
  • Familiarity with clinical workflows and medical terminology
  • Background in pharmaceutical systems or medication management platforms
  • Experience with audit trail validation and compliance reporting
  • Knowledge of healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR)

• Mathematical & Clinical Testing:

  • Ability to validate complex mathematical algorithms and scientific calculations
  • Experience testing statistical analysis and data processing systems
  • Understanding of test oracle problems (determining correct outputs for calculations)
  • Comfort with pharmacological concepts and medication dosing logic
  • Ability to create comprehensive test cases for edge cases in clinical scenarios

• System Thinking:

  • Strong understanding of system architecture and integration points
  • Ability to identify high-risk areas requiring thorough testing coverage
  • Experience with database testing and data integrity validation
  • Knowledge of distributed systems testing challenges
  • Understanding of race conditions, concurrency issues, and timing problems

Nice to Have

• Experience testing AI/ML systems or API integrations
• Background in clinical trial data management or pharmaceutical QA
• Knowledge of body composition science, endocrinology, or nutrition
• Experience with accessibility testing (WCAG compliance)
• Contributions to open-source testing frameworks or tools
• Familiarity with chaos engineering or fault injection testing
• Understanding of telemedicine regulations and requirements
• Experience building testing infrastructure from scratch
• Background in test-driven development (TDD) or behavior-driven development (BDD)
