About the Opportunity

We are seeking an Investments Compliance Senior Associate to join our team in Berlin. As N26 expands its investment offerings, we are seeking a driven Senior Associate to champion regulatory integrity across our trading products. You will act as the vital bridge between ambitious product innovation and strict adherence to frameworks like MiFID II. From early ideation to market launch, you will actively advise cross-functional teams to ensure compliance is built-in by design. By partnering with Legal, Risk, and Engineering, you will develop scalable, tech-driven compliance solutions that protect the bank while maintaining our agility. Responsibilities

  • Champion Compliance: Ensure our trading operations are fully aligned with European and national laws (e.g. MiFID, MAR, MiCAR, Regulatory Technical Standards, WpHG, MaComp, and more).
  • Set the Standard: Implement top-tier market standards to offer the best customer experience, prevent insider dealings, manage conflicts of interest, and ensure best execution.
  • Be the Bridge: Collaborate seamlessly with Product, Business, Operations, Complaints, external partners, and our Group Compliance team.
  • Shape the Narrative: Translate compliance requirements into clear, actionable feedback for business stakeholders.
  • Drive Innovation: Contribute to the Investments Compliance Roadmap and align our compliance strategy with N26's overall vision.
  • Lead the Way: Manage the Compliance Roadmap by identifying risks, stakeholders, and dependencies, and ensuring clear communication.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of advisory/audit experience in European and national laws (e.g. MiFID, MAR, MiCAR, Regulatory Technical Standards, WpHG, MaComp, and more) governing trading and insurance (FinTech/banking environment or consulting).
  • Bachelor’s/Master's in law, economics, or equivalent with deep knowledge of relevant regulations (Compliance certifications are a plus).
  • Strong understanding of market standards (insider dealing prevention, conflicts of interest, market abuse, best execution).
  • Analytical mindset and ability to connect business interests with compliance risks and vice versa.
  • Good understanding of European and local banking legal/regulatory obligations.
  • Team player and eager to thrive in cross-functional teams.
  • Startup-ready, high integrity, reliable, excellent communicator, proactive, assertive, and hands-on.
