About the Position

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Automation QA Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Europe. Our client is a leading multinational company in the building materials industry.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring quality across APIs, integrations, and event-driven systems by designing robust automated tests, validating complex business flows, and working closely with developers throughout the software delivery lifecycle. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, taking ownership of quality within their delivery area, and contributing to the evolution of modern quality engineering practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated tests across APIs, integrations, and asynchronous messaging systems.
  • Collaborate with developers, analysts, and product owners to define effective testing strategies and ensure quality is built into solutions from the outset.
  • Design comprehensive test coverage for functional, integration, regression, and non-functional scenarios.
  • Validate API contracts, message transformations, payload mappings, and end-to-end business processes across multiple systems.
  • Investigate defects using logs, observability platforms, and distributed tracing to support root cause analysis.
  • Identify quality risks early and work with the team to implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of automation frameworks, reusable testing utilities, and engineering standards.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines by ensuring automated tests are reliable, maintainable, and suitable for continuous delivery.
  • Share knowledge with other QA engineers through collaboration, peer reviews, and mentoring.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in API and integration testing.
  • Understanding of building and maintaining automated test suites.
  • Experience testing distributed or event-driven systems.
  • In-depth understanding of quality engineering principles and modern testing practices.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Be comfortable working in Agile delivery environments.
  • A strong quality engineering mindset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
