About The Team

Life360’s Cloud Success team is a part of the Developer Experience (DevEx) department. We build and maintain the internal developer platform that powers engineering velocity across the company. We design and deliver the tooling, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and developer productivity systems that enable hundreds of engineers to ship confidently and quickly. Cloud Success is at the forefront of Life360’s AI-native engineering transformation - building the foundations that make AI-assisted development the default, not the exception.

About the Job

You’ll join a team that values autonomy, high craft, and direct impact on every engineer at Life360. As a Senior Developer II on the Cloud Success team, you’ll work at the intersection of cloud infrastructure and internal platform engineering. You’ll design, build, and evolve systems that improve the reliability, scalability, and developer experience of our internal platform - from CI/CD pipelines to Kubernetes tooling to AI-powered developer agents. This is a hands-on role: you’ll balance deep technical execution with cross-team collaboration, directly shaping how engineers across Life360 build and ship software. You’ll be a key contributor to our AI-native engineering transformation, building automation that accelerates the pace of development across the entire engineering org.

The Canada-based salary range for this position is $171,500- $201,000 CAD. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary- therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement CI/CD pipeline infrastructure using GitHub Actions, Argo Rollouts, or similar tools, optimizing for developer velocity and reliability.
  • Build and maintain internal developer tooling, SDKs, and self-service platform capabilities on top of Kubernetes (EKS) and GitOps workflows (ArgoCD).
  • Own infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/Atmos) for shared developer platform resources across multiple AWS accounts.
  • Work with developers and operations engineers to define clear, helpful guidelines for rolling production changes out safely.
  • Track metrics on organization tools like Cortex to validate that our changes are having the intended effect.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on cloud-native development, platform patterns, and AI engineering practices.
  • Contribute to incident response and postmortem processes, including building AI-driven tooling for detection, triage, and prevention.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in software or platform engineering, with at least 2 years in infrastructure- or tooling-focused roles.
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes (EKS preferred), Helm, and GitOps workflows (ArgoCD).
  • Proficiency designing and operating CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Harness, CodeFresh, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Atmos).
  • Solid understanding of AWS services, networking, IAM, and distributed system patterns.
  • Strong programming skills in Go, Python, or Java, with demonstrated ability to ship production-grade internal tooling.
  • Fluent AI-native engineer: uses tools like Claude Code, Copilot, or similar agents daily; has built or deployed at least one AI-powered automation in a production context.
  • Proven ability to drive cross-team platform initiatives and communicate technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI-native engineering practices.
  • Strong mentoring skills.
  • Experience with incident response and postmortem processes.

We Offer

  • Competitive pay and benefits
  • Medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance plans
  • RRSP plan with DPSP company matching program
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for mental well being
  • Flexible PTO, several company wide days off throughout the year
  • Winter and Summer Week-long Synchronized Company Shutdowns
  • Learning & Development programs
  • Equipment, tools, and reimbursement support for a productive remote environment
  • Free Life360 Platinum Membership for your preferred circle
  • Free Tile Products
