Senior Backend Developer

About the Position

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to come aboard our AI Pods team and craft dependable AI-powered API services along with agentic workflows. The position is centered on enabling language models to interact with internal systems, vector databases, and external tools through orchestration frameworks. You will treat LLMs as building blocks within a secure, scalable distributed environment, taking full ownership of API contracts and service reliability while embedding LLMs via disciplined systems engineering practices spanning evaluation, observability, fallback handling, and cost awareness.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop backend API services along with LLM orchestration layers
• Build and sustain sophisticated RAG pipelines covering document ingestion, chunking, embedding, and retrieval optimization
• Create and wire up agent tools leveraging LangChain, LangGraph, and potentially MCP (Model Context Protocol)
• Guarantee security, privacy, enterprise-grade observability, and test coverage throughout all backend workflows
• Shape architecture decisions and engineering standards inside the pod
• Partner with frontend engineers, data engineers, and infrastructure teams
• Take ownership of API contracts and service reliability, ensuring graceful failure of AI edge cases
• Deliver dependable, reusable orchestration frameworks and logic intended for downstream developer use

Requirements

• 3+ years in backend engineering with a focus on microservices and distributed systems
• 2+ years of Python proficiency applied to high-performance backend services and cloud-native APIs
• Expertise in AWS, Docker, and ECS/EKS
• Background in RESTful API development
• Knowledge of secure coding practices together with solid auth/authz fundamentals
• Upper-Intermediate English language proficiency (B2)

Nice to Have

• 1–2+ years of practical production usage of AI SDKs including OpenAI, Anthropic/Claude, or AWS Bedrock
• Familiarity with vector stores (Amazon Kendra, OpenSearch) alongside embedding strategies and retrieval systems
• Direct experience working with agentic frameworks like LlamaIndex
• Skills in AI evaluation tooling or real-time APM platforms (LangSmith, Langfuse, Arize)
• 1–2+ years applying React and TypeScript, together with large-scale EKS deployments
• Understanding of agent interoperability patterns (MCP), identity/security spaces (IAM, CIAM), plus additional languages like Java, Node.js, or Go
